"Helena's massage is an oasis for body and soul. I greatly appreciate her sensitive approach to the body and careful consideration of personal needs. Her massage is as great, unique and above all professional as her dance on stage." Andrea Švandová

"As a professional dancer, Helena approaches the body and perceives it in a specific way, and the movements of her hands during the massage create own dance. This approach, combined with her knowledge of kinesiology and massage therapies and techniques, ensures that you will feel great during and after the massage. I can say that the massage was an extremely relaxing and enriching experience for me, so I can recommend Helena Arenbergerová's massage to everyone and I am looking forward to seeing Helena again in the beautiful Annamalai studio in the city center." Monika Hanková, New York

"I am grateful for discovering Helena. It was through a written recommendation on facebook, so I send it further. I have had the massage not only myself, but also my husband several times. We gave this experience to my cousin, mother-in-law and father-in-law. Despite the initial distrust of my recommendation ("it's the best massage in the world, it's changing the state of consciousness and it's just divine ...") they came from a massage with a completely different facial expression and were amazed. Helena has a deeply conscious touch, it seems to me that she dances with my body, has always listened to, and fulfilled my expectations and needs beyond my expectations. Helena, thanks for your care." Edita Čechová

"After your massage I was floating. I felt piriformis in the evening but only until the moment I went to sleep, last 2 days I couldnt sleep at all, during the night the pain went away and until now I dont feel any. I really like your praxis and I will recommend it to others." Honza Pospíšil

"From the beginning, I was sure that I would be comfortable with her, that she would have enough time for me and that being in her presence would improve my mood. And I am happy that I was not mistaken a bit :-). In addition, I got a delicious tea and perhaps for the first time in my life I experienced a massage when I was not cold for a short while." Mirka Papajiková

My approach to massage and services

I believe that mindful and positive touch gives all the body’s systems the opportunity to restore themselves to a natural state of balance. I find a good massage beneficial for everyone wishing to address physical ailments, manage stress better, achieve a state of balance, relax, and connect more deeply with body and mind.

My ideal is to provide a customized massage that addresses your individual needs as much as possible. I take time for an initial consultation and customize each session’s speed, pressure and techniques. I use techniques of classic Swedish massage, Deep tissue, Lomi lomi and Traditional Thai massage, either alone or in suitable combination. Massage is carried out either on a massage table with oil or on a massage mat on the ground in your loose clothing.

At each successive session, we can adapt the massage to meet your needs and your current physical and mental condition. Therefore I very much welcome your feedback.

I use only quality cold pressed oils for the massage. You can choose a particular oil from my offer.

Swedish massage

A classic treatment which represents the western standard for massage. Main techniques used in Swedish massage are stroking, gliding, kneading, rubbing, tapping, vibration and are designed to improves your circulation and soothe your muscles. Depending on the embodiment, it may be relaxing or energizing.

Traditional Thai massage

The essence of Thai massage is the theory of energy lines in the body. In order to maintain the health of the body and mind, life energy should flow freely within them. Blocking the flow of energy can lead to discomfort, eventually lead to disease. Therefore, during massage, palms, thumbs, elbows, knees and feet exert pressure on reflective points located in the energy lines, thereby releasing energy flow, relaxing and supporting natural healing processes. Full Thai massage includes a combination of acupressure, work along energy lines, and passive yoga stretching. All techniques used are adapted to your health condition and possibilities. The massage is meditative in nature and time is often lost.

Massage is done on the mattress on the floor in loose, comfortable clothing. Please, bring a T-shirt, sweatpants, and socks with you.

Lomi lomi massage

Lomi lomi massage is part of Hawaiian ancient tradition and healing system focusing on both spirit and body. It is also known as the ‘loving hands’ massage and works gently yet deeply into the muscles with continuous, flowing strokes, allowing the recipient to relax and give in to the nurturing touch. It brings a deeply relaxing experience.

Deep tissue

Refers to slower, deeper techniques that engage the deep layers of the muscle tissue to help alleviate chronic muscle tension and break down scar tissue. It includes different myofascial release techniques, deep massage with oil, active and passive stretching. In some moments the client has to be active and participate.

Massage Recommendations and Warnings

Recommendations before massage

At your first visit, we will fill out a short questionnaire related to your health. I would like to know about any problems with your health, the role of movement in your life, and what kind of work you do. Please inform me about changes to your health at the beginning of your future visits.

Please, do not eat heavy meals for at least 2 hours before the massage.

Please, do not drink any alcohol or use any drugs before massage. If you take medication regularly consult massage with your doctor.

Please, drop jewelry, watch and turn off your mobile phone.

I recommend reserving enough time for the massage and letting the effects fade away. Reactions to massage are individual, but I recommend that you not plan strenuous activities after your massage.

Recommendations during massage

Breath freely and smoothly.

Your massage is your benefit, don’t hesitate to tell me how you feel or what you want.

When the body is relaxed, repressed emotions are sometimes released. If laughing or crying overwhelms you, let it flow and gradually it will fade away.

Recommendations after massage

Right after massage, sit up slowly over the side.

Massage acts on the lymphatic system and helps the body detoxify. If you drink enough water (non-carbonated) after your massage, you will promote the elimination of waste products from the body.

The effects of massage on energy lines fade over the course of several hours, so it’s best not to shower for at least 3 hours.

Eat light meals, do not drink alcohol and sleep well.

Warning of possible negative conditions after massage

Although most people feel relaxed and well after massage, it is necessary to mention possible negative physical or mental conditions. They may occur if you do not go to massage regularly, if you are not physically active or you are experiencing a stressful period. During massage, all functions in the body are supported, the self-healing and cleansing processes are started, the physical and emotional bodies are released. Feelings of tiredness, muscle strain, mood swings, more emotional reactions or long-suppressed emotions may emerge. All these symptoms are normal and should disappear within 24 hours. You may feel positive effect after.

Massage and pain

Massage should be a pleasant and useful experience for your body and mind. If you have not paid enough attention to your body for a long time, ignoring the signals that something is wrong, or relieving painkillers, any massage may be somewhat painful in some places. Especially in the case of massage that focuses on a particular problem, you may initially feel mild pain. However, it is usually perceived as relieving pain, “healing”, and gradually recedes, leaving only the feeling of pressure and spilling heat. Since we are different, I recommend communicating your feelings during the massage.

How often to go for a massage?

Massage is best used preventively. It helps keep the body in balance and helps you avoid possible problems. I recommend massage at least every 3 to 4 weeks.

If you go through a stressful period, more frequent massage will bring you the desired relaxation.

If you have long-term problems with the musculoskeletal system, if you have migraines or insomnia, it is advisable to do a massage once a week for several weeks. After a few regular visits you will feel better.

In the case of unbearable pain, preventing even small movement, I recommend that you look for a doctor and use rest and dry heat as a first aid.
